Position Summary
The Lead Water Restoration Technician is responsible for executing high-quality water mitigation services while leading field operations and maintaining excellent communication with customers, insurance representatives, and team members. This is a hands-on, field-based position that requires technical expertise, leadership, and a strong customer-first mindset. The ideal candidate brings a background in restoration, construction, and mitigation and thrives in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.
This position requires rotating on-call/emergency availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional, empathetic customer service throughout the mitigation process
- Conduct on-site assessments and communicate with homeowners, property managers, and adjusters
- Obtain required documents (e.g., signed work authorizations, COS) before initiating or completing projects
- Perform water mitigation and restoration services according to industry standards and RestoPros protocols
- Create accurate moisture maps, drying logs, and job documentation using industry-specific software
- Write and review estimates using estimating software (Xactimate experience preferred)
- Oversee jobsite cleanliness and safety from start to finish
- Maintain daily job schedules, equipment logs, and documentation
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior technicians as the team scales
- Maintain a clean, organized work vehicle and ensure tools/equipment are properly stocked and maintained
- Perform regular inspections to ensure quality and compliance with IICRC standards
Qualifications
- 1–2+ years of water mitigation or restoration experience (Required)
- 1+ years of general construction, demolition, or related experience (Preferred)
- IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification (Preferred)
- Experience with mold, fire, or smoke remediation (Preferred)
- Proficient with job management software, drying logs, and documentation tools
- Xactimate estimating experience is a major plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and a high level of reliability
- Able to work independently and communicate effectively with ownership and team
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must pass background check and driving record screening
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
Physical Requirements
- Regularly lift 50 lbs. (up to 100 lbs. with assistance)
- Work on ladders and in elevated or confined spaces (e.g., attics, crawl spaces)
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, walk, and perform physical labor for prolonged periods
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks involving pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying
